Megan Garza, M.A.

Megan Garza, M.A. is an advanced graduate student in the University of Missouri- St. Louis’ Doctoral program in Clinical Psychology specializing in Trauma Studies. A native from Grand Rapids, Michigan, Ms. Garza received her Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Pepperdine University in Los Angeles, California. She received her second Master’s degree in Psychology from the University of Missouri-St. Louis. Her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Sociology was obtained from Valparaiso University in Valparaiso, Indiana. In her position at CASGSL, Ms. Garza sees individual clients who have been exposed to various forms of trauma including sexual abuse, physical abuse, and domestic violence. Ms. Garza has 10 years of experience assessing and treating children, adolescents, and adults with eating disorders, depression, anxiety, substance abuse, autism, family issues, disruptive behavior disorders, traumatic brain injury, and issues related to trauma and abuse. Her specialty areas of professional training include treatment of sexual victimization and eating disorders, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), Play Therapy, Integrative Treatment for Complex Trauma (ITCT), Marriage and Family Therapy, Behavioral Therapy for Autism, Humanistic Therapy, Guided Imagery, and general psychological assessment.
