The St. Louis Children's Advocacy Center (St. Louis CAC) is a University-based, multidisciplinary child trauma and advocacy center that provides high-quality trauma-focused services to youth, families, and the community. We promote resiliency, physical safety, and emotional stability through comprehensive research, forensic and clinical services, and educational and advocacy programming.
What we do
The St. Louis Children's Advocacy Center (St. Louis CAC) serves the children and families of St. Louis County and St. Louis City. St. Louis CAC is one of 15 Child Advocacy Centers across Missouri.
St. Louis CAC exists to allow children to share their experiences of abuse or neglect in a child-friendly and non-threatening environment. At St. Louis CAC we operate by what we call the Child First Doctrine; meaning that the child and their well-being is our first priority.
The primary goal of St. Louis CAC is to coordinate the multidisciplinary team to ensure that children disclosing abuse are not further traumatized by the intervention systems designed to protect them. Services offered include forensic interviews, child and family advocacy and mental health therapy. These services are at no cost to our children and families due to the generous support of our donors and funders.
St. Louis CAC is accredited by the National Children’s Alliance which means our center adheres to the highest standards of practice for child advocacy centers in the nation.
