What are your Privacy Practices?
Our Privacy Practices explain the rights our clients have to privacy and confidentiality.
Do you work with perpetrators?
No. Alleged perpetrators are not allowed in our facility. We do provide services for non-offending parents, siblings and other family members.
What ages do you serve?
CASGSL provides clinical services to children from birth through age 18. Forensic clients are generally at least age three (verbal enough to participate in an interview).
How are you funded?
Children's Advocacy Services is funded by a variety of sources. Public sources include Missouri Departments of Social Services, Health and Public Safety, St. Louis Mental Health Board, and the University of Missouri-St. Louis. Private sources include the Norman J. Stupp Foundation, St. Louis Unitarian Foundation, Boeing Employees Community Fund, Cardinals Care Foundation and area corporations and individuals. The National Children's Alliance provides funding through the U.S. Department of Justice, Office of Victims of Crime.
How much do your services cost?
There is no charge to the child or family for forensic interviews and medical exams. For therapy services, CASGSL accepts some insurance plans. Grant-eligible clients may be able to receive services at no cost. For those families without insurance, and who are not eligible for grant-funded services, families are charged on a sliding scale according to household income.
Do children live at Children's Advocacy Services?
No, all of our services are "outpatient." However, we also work with children who are in foster or residential care settings.
How can I make a referral for services?
For counseling services, the child’s parent and/or legal custodian should call our front desk at (314) 516-6798. You will be transferred to our intake coordinator, who will conduct an initial phone screening before scheduling you to meet with a therapist. For forensic services, families must be referred by Children’s Division or law enforcement agencies.
